Pricing
Our fee for boarding care in our home is $1 an hour. You provide food and any other necessary supplies such as bedding, grooming tools, food dishes, etc.
For exclusive boarding (your dog only), if our boarding schedule allows, we charge $40 a day. You provide food and any other necessary supplies such as bedding, grooming tools, food dishes, etc. Normally, in a non-exclusive situation there may be up to four small or two large dogs boarding in our home during any given day. During peak boarding seasons (July/August, Spring Break and the Christmas Holidays) we may take up to five boarders.
Service charge for pick up/return of pet is $.75 per km mileage.
Boarding fees are calculated on a 24-hour basis; any boarding in excess of a 24-hour period will be billed at $1 an hour per pet. Your 24-hour period begins when your pet(s) arrives at our home or at the time of pick-up. Normal hours for pick-up or drop-off are 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, however, we will always do our best to work around your schedule regardless of the hour.
Services include:
- Day boarding in our home as preparation for a subsequent longer boarding stay. Sometimes our clients like to start with a day or two and then an overnight stay before they board their pet for a longer period of time.
- Long term 24-hour boarding in our home. Boarding includes two daily on-leash 45-minute walks. We also take dogs outdoors in our fenced yard every few hours, weather permitting. If the weather is very inclement we will teach your dog to walk on our treadmill for exercise, with your permission.
- At your request we will send email reports to you while you're away to let you know how your pet is doing. We'll usually include a photo or two because we know how much you will be missing your furry family member. Let us know if you'd like us to phone you free of charge anywhere in North America.
For Our Mainland Clients
We offer free airport shuttle and vehicle storage to any of our mainland clients who arrange to fly out of the Comox Airport. We will drop you off, pick you up and store your locked, covered vehicle while you are away. Also, ask us about the possibility of meeting you to pick up your dog at one of the ferry terminals in Nanaimo.
